The Healing Power of Letting Go

Every day, I am consistently reminded to embrace the present and all it has to offer: a new opportunity to begin again. No matter how much I may stumble on this journey of letting go, the present is always here to remind me that I don’t have to stay stuck on yesterday or worry about what will happen tomorrow.

When you are hurting yourself by clinging to something or someone, you know it’s time to let go. When the emotional or physical pain is greater than the fear of uncertainty, it’s time. Ask yourself, “What will I lose by not letting go?” For me, I would have lost my wellbeing, my spirit, and the opportunity to live my best life.

Putting yourself and your needs first gives you the courage to let go. Reconnecting with your own soul and showing compassion for what it craves makes it easier. Sitting in a safe space will also allow all the emotions around letting go come to the surface. This temporary suffering leads to surrender. And surrender always leads to transformation.

Letting go is releasing all doubt, worry, and fear about a situation, person, or outcome. It’s about accepting what is happening right now and not worrying about what will come up tomorrow.

It’s releasing anything that disrupts your happiness and no longer serves you on your journey. This requires being present, acceptance, forgiveness, and practicing gratitude.

Letting go is a choice to decide that you will no longer ruminate on things that are out of your control, and focus on what you can control, instead.

Letting go creates space for fresh beginnings: stripping you of what happened yesterday and enabling the doors of brand-new opportunities to open today.

It involves much more than just saying you have let go. It’s an internal process that must happen for you to truly feel better and get on with life in a healthy way.

Hanging on too tightly to something that doesn’t serve you creates struggle. And struggle leads to energy sabotaging habits that prevent you from healing and accessing your true potential. These habits can make you feel exhausted, scattered, depressed, and even physically sick.

There is power in letting go! Let go before the suffering becomes unbearable!
